Much has been said about the power of a brand, which by its very nature requires consistency and loyalty to its ethos. In the five years of our existence, the Mamas & Papas brand has evolved, but still remained true to its founding statement: to provide a platform for new and existing parents to be provided with information so that they can choose the level at which they want to participate. Hence we say “Parenting… your way!”

We are proud of the fact that our readership has grown exponentially over the years, despite the challenges facing publications today. The landscape has shifted during these interesting times, with changes in plastic and milk formula legislation placing stifling restrictions on the marketing of these products to our readers. The media landscape has been forced to change the way in which we present and package our messages to our readers, creating new markets and empowering society with knowledge that was previously unavailable to them.

Technological advances have reduced the number of infant mortalities due to foetal abnormalities or chromosomal disorders, but there is still much to be done in the field of mother and childcare. A large percentage of our women are still struggling to find the best and most basic solutions to their pregnancy, baby and parenting needs. You may wonder what the next milestone is for M&P. We are dedicated to satisfying you, our loyal readers, so your needs are always top of mind. Social media and other new platforms will be a part of our foreseeable future. However, we believe that our success will only come from the continued engagement and partnerships that we have formed with our readers and media partners respectively. When we started the magazine, the world was hit by the global recession of 2008 that impacted our country as well. Despite this difficult time, our readers and partners believed in our dream and forged ahead with us, because they believed that our society needs a publication of this nature.

The structure and content of our magazine was a game changer and we are humbled by the response and the general influence we had in the category of parenting and lifestyle magazines. Young families are given tips and advice by our gogos. Women are advised on motoring trends and knowledge about the sector and our panel of experts continues to give tirelessly on subjects that help us care for our children and families. We are truly proud of where we find ourselves, but acknowledge that there is still a lot that can and should be done. We value your contributions to our content, from grandparents to caregivers, and all the extended family. This is ultimately your magazine and we are but custodians of this platform. We pledge to continue to live our ethos of giving you the choice to parent your way! From all of us at M&P we thank you!
