Issue 25 March 2010
Fresh Living
You don’t have to be an intrepid, rock-climbing bundu-basher to experience the great outdoors – sometimes just swapping the lounge for the garden or courtyard can do the trick! The point, really, is to make the most of the warm summer weather (it’s almost over) with family and friends and something delicious to eat – get inspired with our ‘Happy campers’ feature on page 34.
On an outdoor note, the alfresco food festival, Taste of Cape Town, runs from 24 to 28 March at Rhodes High School, Mowbray (see page 20 for more info). Be sure to join us at the PnP Fresh Living Chef’s Theatre for a plethora of fabulous food demonstrations. And, if you buy a subscription at the show, you’ll get R100 worth of free crowns (the festival currency). That means you’ll be paying R32 for 11 issues of SA’s top-selling food and lifestyle mag!
The Easter weekend is coming up, so ferry the kids (and their father) into the kitchen to whip up a few healthy Easter treats (page 84) while you take time out to pamper yourself with our ingenious ideas for a DIY budget beauty home-spa day (page 80).
This issue also offers the first in our Wonderful World product booklet series – this one will bring you up to speed on the vast array of cheeses available at Pick n Pay, what they taste like, and what to do with them.
Enjoy…
