:: Editor's Letter
August/September 2009

All things bright and beautiful... All creatures great and small... As the greater things have a tendency to steal our focus, it is imperative to regularly take notice of the finer things in life. That's why in this edition I have two dedicated feature articles on the more-macro critters of the ocean.
Jessica LePoidevin, a former staff writer and editor for The Sea magazine in the UK, shares her knowledge of the nudis of Indonesia in the article, Nudibranchs: The Jewels of the Sea, page 14. Fiona Ayerst, professional underwater photographer and editor of Beyond Blue magazine, reveals the elusive frogfish, in the feature Fancy Frogfish, page 50.
Another eye-candy feature is Wet and Wild Diving on the Wildside. Chantal Timm retells her first experience of delving into the crisp waters of Port Elizabeth at the PE Dive Fest, where she discovers a multi-coloured coral fair.
The time of year has come when the Fujifilm Sodwana Shootout is featured. Without a doubt, the competition was rife! But see for yourself on page 28. It is also that time of year for the National Boat Show. I'm looking forward to this year's show, and would like to invite those of you who are in the area, to come and have a cuppa with me at our stand (see ad on page 13).
Since this edition is our three year anniversary edition, I have a special note to my readers, contributors and advertisers (page 11). You are all an inspiration, and I look forward to the next year(s)! Thank you!
